Kurt Angle Discusses The Possibility Of An MMA Fight

Kurt Angle appeared on MMA Uncensored on Spike TV Thursday night and said that while the answer to whether he'll ever fight in MMA is "probably no," he would consider an offer if the money was right.

Angle was asked if he would have a one-off MMA fight like Batista is and said, "I can't say yes or no. I'm 43. I tried out for the Olympics and I kept getting injured. My body is breaking down. The pro wrestling hasn't helped me, but it's probably no. But, if the offer is good enough, you never know."

Angle also discussed sparring with Brock Lesnar during their WWE days, his often-repeated story about a TUF deal falling through because he wanted more time to prep and more. As to whether he would have joined MMA in the '90s if he'd known it would blow up, he said, "I was too far into wrestling main-eventing WrestleManias that there was no turning back. The money was in pro wrestling at the time."

Brock Lesnar's WWE Future (Backstage Update)

It has previously been reported, WWE is likely to offer Brock Lesnar another contract when his current deal with WWE expires after WrestleMania 29. Now that it has been revealed that the Brock vs. Triple H SummerSlam match has the highest buyrate since 2008, it is considered to be a virtual guarantee that Lesnar will be offered another deal.

Backstage Vince McMahon Joke At RAW

There was a backstage joke going around at RAW on Monday from Albany, NY regarding Vince McMahon. The running joke was that Vince couldn't wait to take a shot at and mock the NFL for the replacement referee debacle. According to people close to McMahon, he's wanted the NFL to turn into the XFL for years now and the feeling was that they were now doing it to themselves. Vince was directly behind the shots at the NFL during RAW on Monday night and was all smiles during creative meetings while coming up with the segment. Of course, the NFL reached a new deal with the normal referees last night and they'll be back for tonight's Browns vs. Ravens game.

Update On The TNA vs. WWE Lawsuit

An injunction was handed down by the Chancery Court of Tennessee against Brian Wittenstein for his alleged role in TNA's lawsuit against him and WWE. The order was made official after Wittenstein failed to respond to the lawsuit. Wittenstein did supply TNA with a signed statement giving his version of the situation.

Wittenstein has been ordered to return all information he took from TNA via a flash drive after he left his employment there. He must not speak of any TNA information to any third parties (including WWE) and must not breach any of his agreements with TNA.

The original temporary order against WWE was lifted a while back after they proved that there is no digital copy of Wittenstein's information. The lawsuit continues, though the next step is unclear as of this writing.

Scott Steiner Counter-Sues TNA Wrestling

Scott Steiner has filed a counter-suit in response to the lawsuit filed against him by TNA. As previously reported, TNA filed suit against Steiner in June for breach of contract, saying that Steiner breached said contract (which had expired at that point) when he made remarks against TNA, Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff, among others, and sought damages as well as an injunction against Steiner to keep him from making further comment.

Steiner's counter-suit, filed on the 10th of this month, claims that TNA breached the contract by failing to provide a contractually-obliged accounting of royalty payments, failing to provide statements of all merchandise and video royalties and failed to pay all royalties due. Steiner requested compensation in a "yet to be determined amount."

Steiner said in his filing that he never agreed not to speak against the company; thus, speaking out could not breach his contract. He also denied being involved in an effort to disparage TNA or its executives and noted that his contract expired and he never accepted a new contract. He wants the lawsuit against him dismissed and requested a jury trial should it go that far.

Daniel Bryan vs. Tyson Kidd Praised

WWE taped a match between Daniel Bryan and Tyson Kidd for this weekend's Saturday Morning Slam. It received great reviews from fans who said it was a very entertaining comedy match that will be good for the show's young audience.

Matt Morgan Being Kept Off TNA TV

While Matt Morgan has re-signed with TNA and has made some house show appearances, there are no plans for him to be brought back to TV in the immediate future.

Kelly Kelly Not Making WWE Happy

WWE's Kelly Kelly did a photo shoot on Wednesday for Let It Fly Energy shots. Also included in the shoot were rapper/producer Timbaland, MMA fighters Gray Maynard and Ryan Bader and former American Idol contestant Erica Van Pelt. This was an outside deal and not set up through WWE. Kelly has been trying to get more outside bookings and appearances over the last few months. That hasn't made WWE happy.

WrestleMania 30

As noted late last night here on the website, WWE is currently debating the location for WrestleMania 30, with the top locations being Los Angeles and Madison Square Garden in New York. The feeling is that the downside of running MGS again for the event is that they are running the market this year for WrestleMania 29. Also, the thought is that WWE would have to charge exorbitant amounts of money for tickets in order to recoup the ticket revenue lost from not holding the event in a stadium setting.

Wade Barrett Discusses His New Finisher & More

Wade Barrett recently spoke with WWE.com about his new finisher, "The Souvenir." Here are the highlights…

"It's a variation of a knockout blow. In bare-knuckle fighting, you're always looking to disable your opponent as quickly as possible. I have gone back to my roots as a fighter and it was something I wanted to bring into my arsenal.

Wasteland and the Winds of Change are still there in my arsenal. I just think people are more intimidated by the prospect of getting an elbow smashed into their temple than the prospect of a slam."

John Cena Gives Recovery Update

John Cena posted the following on Twitter today, regarding his recovery from elbow surgery…

Angelina Love Not Dishing On TNA Release

Angelina Love, who parted ways with TNA Wrestling in July following a fruitful tenure that included five title runs, stated Thursday on Twitter that she will not give interviews discussing the nature of her departure from the organization as well as behind-the-scenes matters.

She wrote, "For those who keep inquiring, I will NOT be accepting any interviews based around my leaving TNA, the reasons behind it, the state of the current Knockouts Division, management, etc etc. I've done my one major post-release interview already with @FeeltheMayhem, so if u need answers, go download the interview. I'll be glad to talk about all my wonderful upcoming bookings, adventures and future gigs, but that's it folks! Thanks!!"

The Miz Talks Tough Start In WWE

The Miz recently did an interview with the Times-Record News in Wichita, which you can read here. In the interview he discussed his tough start in WWE, stating the following… "I tried really hard, It was brutal just having people tell you you're not going to make it. But that was the fuel ... One of the best pieces of advice I've ever gotten was from Billy Kidman, who said, 'Stick with it.'"

The Big Show To All Japan?, & nWo In All Japan & More

The Great Muta recently began playing up the idea of bringing Big Show to Japan as part of the WWE/AJPW alliance. Nothing has yet been confirmed, though the rumors are being played up in order to promote the alliance.

Masa Chono will be part of AJPW's show in Yokohama, Japan this Sunday. Kevin Nash teams up with Muta on the show. The addition of Chono is building the idea of a reunion between the nWo and nWo Japan at the show.

Report: WWE Pleased With Three-Hour RAWs

WWE officials are reportedly pleased with the improvements that have been made to adjust RAW to a three-hour format. WWE officials reportedly recognize that the three-hour show is a "work in progress" and the company knows they need to find a way to perk up the third hour rating, but they are pleased with how things are going overall.

The company is unlikely to go back to the two-hour format as USA pays a lot more for the show as a three-hour show.

WWE Considering Bringing The Nexus Back?

WWE officials have reportedly discussed the possibility of bringing back the Nexus. The company was reportedly "shocked" when they heard fans doing Nexus chants on RAW during the Wade Barrett vs. Justin Gabriel match and one of the top stories on WWE.com was one about whether Barrett might reunite the group.

A source in the company said, "The only reason for putting up a top story on the website about a glorified squash match is to hear more from the fans."

Officials feel it would give Barrett a chance to lead the stable again and would showcase him to look as strong as they can and the Nexus brand sold a ton of merchandise. The company plans to see if the Nexus chants continue and are working on ideas for if they move ahead.

Top WWE Diva Leaving Company - Details

Beth Phoenix has given her notice to WWE. Phoenix, who took time off recently due to a death in the family, is expected to leave by the end of next month. Phoenix will finish up all of her already-committed dates. Sources in the company say that they are not surprised as she appeared to be "going through the motions" during the last year. She is one of the mid-carders who was also frustrated. We'll have a big exclusive on this coming shortly.

Phoenix has been part of the company since 2005, has held both the Women's and Divas titles and was the second-ever woman to compete in the Royal Rumble. She will keep ownership of her ring name as she used it before she signed with the company.

Possible **SPOILER** - TNA’s Aces & Eights Leader?

TNA's Aces and Eights angle will come to a climax in the next few weeks and at this time, there is a strong chance that Jeff Jarrett will be revealed as the group's leader. Jarrett is a logical choice, due to the fact that Dixie Carter removed him from power, Sting fired him and was announced for the TNA Hall of Fame before Jarrett (the founder of TNA) and Hulk Hogan has taken over as the General Manger of iMPACT.

Jarrett took a leave from TNA to focus on Ring ka King as well as All Wheels Wrestling. With both projects not going on at this time so he is free to return to TNA as an active performer.

Jeff Hardy Comments On WWE's Pink Ropes

On RAW Monday, WWE used a pink middle rope to raise breast cancer awareness. Regarding this, Jeff Hardy tweeted, "Just my opinion....Every rope should be pink!" As noted earlier here on the website, there are several reasons why Jeff Hardy won this year's Bound for Glory series and will be facing Austin Aries in the main event of the big pay-per-view. Jeff's TNA contract will be expiring in February and the company is trying to keep him happy as he's a huge draw for them. He's by far the number one merchandise seller for the company. In addition to that, TNA expects Hardy to drive PPV and movie theater sales for the show, as more mainstream fans are willing to pay for Hardy (over James Storm, who was also considered). TNA is hoping that merchandise, live event ticket sales and television ratings will go up with building a major program around Hardy.

Timetable For John Cena's Recovery From Surgery Extended

John Cena could be kept out of the ring for as long as two months after undergoing surgery to remove bone chips in his elbow Tuesday. The official WWE website announced Wednesday at 5:40 p.m. that the prognosis for his recovery is now six to eight weeks.

Their statement reads, "The information published about John Cena's recovery was given to WWE.com prior to surgery. In speaking to Dr. Andrews after the procedure, in light of the amount of work that needed to be done and the number of bone chips removed, the prognosis for recovery is closer to six to eight weeks. Knowing John Cena, the former WWE Champion will do everything he needs to get back in the ring as soon as possible."

In a Twitter message Wednesday, Cena disputed WWE's report Tuesday that he would be sidelined for two to three weeks. He wrote, "I spoke in depth with my surgeon Dr James Andrews and he specifically told me due to the amount of fragmentation, SIX WEEKS is a safer time table for recovery. I apologize on behalf of a website whos credibility is now equal to #theonion please @wwe web guys, get your monkey frankin facts straight!"

Edge Explains Why He Cut His Hair

Promoting his upcoming appearances on Syfy's supernatural drama series Haven, former WWE talent Adam "Edge" Copeland explained in an interview with TheTVAddict.com why he cut his signature locks last spring prior to his induction into the WWE Hall of Fame.

"I was just tired of having long hair. I just chopped it off before I got inducted in the Hall of Fame for WWE in April. The day before, I just thought, ‘Why not come out on stage with a new haircut?’ So I did," he said.

"And I thought if Dwight’s an ex-Army Ranger, at some point he’s had short hair so it’s not that far a stretch that he would have short hair again. Then in the context of timeline-wise, you can get your haircut any day and look different. I don’t know. I just wanted to do it."

John Cena Posts Update On Surgery Recovery Time, Whether He Will Remain On TV

The official WWE website announced Tuesday that John Cena underwent surgery to remove bone chips in his elbow. Dr. James Andrews removed several pieces of bone cartilage from Cena's elbow through a scope. He went home to Tampa, Fla. and immediately began rehab.

WWE initially stated that it would likely take four to six weeks for Cena to recover from a surgery of that nature before changing it to "two to three weeks." Cena tweeted an update on his recovery status Wednesday afternoon disputing the company website's second report.

"Some #jackwagon from @wwe dotcom apparently posted me recovering in 14 days," Cena wrote. "I spoke in depth with my surgeon Dr James Andrews And he specifically told me due to the amount of fragmentation, SIX WEEKS is a safer time table for recovery. I apologize on behalf of a Website whos credibility is now equal to #theonion please @wwe web guys, get your monkey frankin facts straight!

He continued, "You folks have my word i will try my best to get healthy as quick as i can, and im sure i wont stay away from #raw but as of now I am supposed to lay low for SIX WEEKS. I will send surgery photos and video to @wwe so they can see how bad it really was. I am also sure that if @wwe took a second to reach out to the actual surgeon, that Dr Andrews would gladly comment.

"Ok, im now off the soap box and back to being just a one armed man. Enjoy your day."

Back in his hell-raising days as the wild-eyed, volatile IED-driven powerhouse, he could turn a fan’s legs to liquid with one cold stare—and they loved him for it. “They almost couldn’t put their finger on why they liked me, but they knew that they did because I had that look,” he says. “I came down the ramp and I didn’t smile. I didn’t pump my fist. I’d make six-year-old kids cry at live events just by looking at them before I got in the ring. I had this fear that I could put into the fans. But [now], I’m slapping hands, I’m kissing babies…instead of being my own person. I had something special there, and I’ve lost it, and I’m trying to get it back.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Orton discusses his battle for privacy and changing his current approach.

Why Matt Morgan Returned To TNA

As reported over the weekend, Matt Morgan has returned to TNA. Morgan did have talks with WWE, but word is that a big part of Morgan's decision was going to be based on how he was going to be used in terms of importance for the company he signed with.

Backstage Update - Jerry Lawler's WWE Return?

At this time, Jerry Lawler is recovering from a heart attack in a Montreal hospital. The heart attack happened last Monday while WWE Monday Night RAW was on the air.

Many have wondered if Lawler's announcing job was in jeopardy, but word is that Vince McMahon reportedly told Lawler to take as much time as he needs to get healthy and his announcing job is waiting for him as soon as he's ready to return.

While doctors have told Lawler that he can return to the ring once he is recovered, the feeling is that WWE is against him wrestling for them in the future.

CM Punk Talks About Being Upset at The Rock's Return, His New WWE DVD and More

WWE Champion CM Punk recently spoke with The Sun in the UK. Here are some highlights from the interview that took place before Night of Champions:

Wrestling The Rock:
"Anybody that doesn’t want to wrestle The Rock is pretty foolish. He’s not around a lot, so to get an opportunity to wrestle him, it’s a slim chance. I might have a shot at him at the Royal Rumble if I get past John Cena, and that right now is my goal. The Rumble is a while away, but hopefully I stay the champ until then."

Getting pissed off at The Rock's return:
"Rock being back, I guess, puts a lot of eyes on our product. In that respect it’s a good thing. I have a lot of pride in what I do, and I’m proud of the WWE, and their superstars and divas that are on the road 365 days a year. It’s a very cold business, it’s a very ‘what have you done for me lately?’ business. When somebody walks in and gets afforded opportunities that people are in line for and people are busting their ass for, you’re damn right I’m going to get pissed off about it. It’s only logical; it isn’t sour grapes. It isn’t whining. It’s a fact. I said it, I was vocal about it. I said it to his face. That’s just the kind of guy I am. Listen, if I disappear for 5-8 years and I come back, I only hope there is someone as angry and as hungry, with a chip on their shoulder, just like me, to tell me the same thing: ‘Hey, I can do everything you’re doing, and I’m doing it every day.’ I don’t hate The Rock, I don’t hate Dwayne. There honestly aren’t any hard feelings, there’s nothing anything personal. It has motivated me to work harder and to prove everybody wrong. That’s what I do."

His upcoming DVD:
"I definitely had the last say in what matches went on there. When I saw the story and how it edited together, I wanted to pick matches that accentuate that story. I watched it with a couple of friends of mine. It’s pretty bizarre; it’s like I’m at my own funeral. It’s all these people I love and respect on there talking about me and seeing my entire career on a WWE DVD. It’s surreal."

Update on Jerry Lawler's Future with WWE

PWInsider reports that there has been no talk within WWE of Jerry Lawler not returning to commentary but there has been talk of him never wrestling again. While doctors told Lawler that he could get in the ring if he wanted to, doctors are not advising it for his longterm health.

On a related note, they add that Vince McMahon told Lawler to do what he needs to do so he can get better and that his commentary job is safe. Vince was said to be shaken up and very concerned over the whole situation with Lawler's health.

What You Didn't See At WWE Night Of Champions

John Cena got a standing ovation from the Boston crowd after Night of Champions went off the air. He saluted them and then headed to the back.

Randy Orton reportedly got into a heated argument with a fan after his match, with the argument reportedly getting "pretty vulgar" including Orton saying he'd see the fan after the show and "mess him up."

Verizon FiOS reportedly had an outage that kept some fans from ordering the PPV. One fan report is as follows:

The pre-show(the taped Free For All, not the live pre-show) aired with no problem. But right at about 7:59 the feed went out. I called them up and they said there was a network problem with the HD feed. They said I could order the standard definition version and not be charged double if I chose to. So I ended up watching the first 3 matches in SD until the HD feed finally came back on in the middle of the Cesaro-Ryder match.
